Liverpool host Everton for the 229th Merseyside derby on Sunday looking to extend an 18-year unbeaten home record against their city rivals.

Last season the Reds won 3-1 at Anfield as Jürgen Klopp's side did the league double over Ronald Koeman's Blues.

There will be a fresh face in the opposition dugout for this Premier League encounter as newly-appointed Blues boss Sam Allardyce attempts to turn the tide of history.

The visitors' last victory at Anfield came in September 1999 when Kevin Campbell scored the winner four minutes into the game.

Here's how Liverpool have fared in the last 10 matches against Everton...

April 2017: Coutinho condemns Everton to derby defeat

Philippe Coutinho was at his scintillating best as Jürgen Klopp became the first Liverpool manager to win his first three league derbies against Everton.

Having scored for Brazil in midweek, Coutinho carried his international form into this Anfield clash, beating two players to curl a shot into the top corner for Liverpool's second goal and then assisting Divock Origi for the third.

Sadio Mane scored the opener to become the first player to net in both Merseyside derbies in a season since Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge in 2013-14.

December 2016: Mane strikes late to seal victory

Sadio Mane's dramatic, last-gasp strike handed Liverpool a fourth Premier League win over Everton via a goal scored in the 90th minute or later.

The Senegal international reacted quickest to Daniel Sturridge's rebounded shot off the post to send the travelling Reds into raptures at Goodison Park.

Everton did not manage a shot on target until the 75th minute and that was in no small part due to Ragnar Klavan's man-of-the-match performance at centre-back.

April 2016: In-form Origi sparks derby deluge

A euphoric Kop jokingly sang the name of embattled Everton boss Roberto Martinez after this emphatic victory extended Liverpool's unbeaten run against the Toffees at Anfield to 17 years.

Divock Origi opened the scoring with his 10th goal of the season before having to go off injured following a red-card challenge from Ramiro Funes Mori.

Mamadou Sakho, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho added their names to the scoresheet to secure Jürgen Klopp's first victory in the Merseyside derby.

October 2015: Rodgers' last stand

This proved to be Brendan Rodgers' final game as Liverpool manager as the Northern Irishman parted company with the club after three-and-a-half years at the helm.

He led the Reds to second place in the Premier League in 2013-14 but this derby-day draw meant his team had won just four of the last 11 games in all competitions.

Danny Ings headed in James Milner's corner to put the Reds in front at Goodison Park, following two excellent saves from Simon Mignolet at the other end, but Romelu Lukaku equalised four minutes later.

February 2015: Derby-day deadlock at Goodison

Jordon Ibe hit the post with a thunderous first-half effort on his second Premier League start for Liverpool in this otherwise drab affair.

Captain Steven Gerrard, so often the scourge of Everton, made his 33rd and final appearance in the Merseyside derby before heading off to Los Angeles Galaxy.

September 2014: Gerrard sets the record straight

Mario Balotelli hit the bar shortly after Steven Gerrard's superb 65th-minute free-kick had given Liverpool the lead to keep as the Reds failed to kill off Everton's hopes of a comeback in the 223rd Merseyside derby.

Roberto Martínez's side left it very late indeed but Phil Jagielka's scorching 30-yard shot in injury time salvaged a point.

Gerrard's strike made the Liverpool captain the all-time top scorer in Premier League Merseyside derbies with nine goals.

January 2014: The sign of four

Liverpool racked up their biggest win against Everton since Ian Rush's four-goal haul in 1982 as they opened up a four-point gap on their city rivals in the race for a top-four finish in the Premier League.

With both sides pushing for Champions League football, this match was pitched as the biggest clash between the two clubs for decades.

However, following Steven Gerrard's opener and two goals in two minutes for Daniel Sturridge it was all over bar the shouting after 35 minutes.

November 2013: Last-gasp Sturridge saves point

With 11 minutes to go in this thriller at Goodison Park, Brendan Rodgers brought on Daniel Sturridge for Lucas Leiva. Then, with injury time just seconds away, the striker met Steven Gerrard's free-kick with a glancing header to notch a last-gasp equaliser in a classic derby encounter.

"A brilliant game, it had everything," Rodgers said after the final whistle. "Magnificent."

Liverpool had led 2-1 through Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez but two goals in 10 minutes from Romelu Lukaku put Everton in the driving seat before Sturridge notched his 22nd goal in 30 games for the Reds.

May 2013: Carragher clean sheet on milestone derby day

Liverpool centre-back Jamie Carragher marked his 30th Merseyside derby with a clean sheet as Everton remained without a win at Anfield since 1999.

Sylvain Distin thought he had changed that statistic but his first-half header was disallowed.

Steven Gerrard went close for the Reds late on as he rounded Tim Howard, only to see Distin clear his shot off the line.

October 2012: Suarez steals the show

Luis Suarez grabbed the headlines when he celebrated his role in Liverpool's opening goal with a swallow dive in front of Everton boss David Moyes, who had made claims before the match that the Uruguayan went to ground too easily.

Well, that and the fact he scored Liverpool's second goal and had an apparent injury-time winner ruled out after the Toffees had fought back from 2-0 down.

It was another inspired performance from Suarez, who nudged his shots-on-goal tally for the season up to 44 - more than any other Premier League player.
