Liverpool have received a major boost in their pursuit of Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

Liverpool are tipped to sign Ceballos is he becomes available in the summer.

And Ceballos, who was offered the chance to rejoin Real Betis in January, has admitted his future at Real is unclear, with just two months of the season remaining.

“I do not regret not leaving,” he told SER.

“(Betis manager Enrique) Setien called me several times at Christmas telling me to help for five months.

“But the move could not be done.

“My goal is to be at Real Madrid this season and when the season ends (I will) decide my future, but I want to be here.”

Ceballos, 21, has made just 19 appearances for Real this season.

Ceballos only joined Real from Betis last summer but has struggled to break into Zinedine Zidane’s midfield.

Indeed, he has not started any of Real’s last 14 games, having last got into the first XI back in a 1-0 win at Leganes in mid-January.

Liverpool may struggle to prise hm away on the cheap, however, as Ceballos signed a six-year contract at the Bernabeu when completing his transfer last summer.
